Overview
ChitoGenics® is a pretty savvy company, apparently. The company offers four different products that all, in some way, trade off of very popular ingredients and/or formats. From Hoodia to Green Tea to detoxification to diet a diet patch, ChitoGenics® is interested in offering dieters the company’s version of the most popular items on the market today.
ChitoGenics® suffers from an image problem, however. The company website looks like the effort of a rather unskilled web designer, and so we are not automatically convinced of ChitoGenics’® quality. Furthermore, two of its products include a potentially hazardous ingredients combination, rendering them unsuitable weight loss options.
Ingredients at a Glance
ChitoGenics® offers four different products: Hoodia Formula, Green Tea Formula, Detox and Cleanse, and Hoodia Patch.
Ingredients in Focus
As there are too many ingredients in all four products combined, we can simply focus on the main engines running each.
Hoodia is the appetite suppressant of the new millennium, it seems. Everyone from your next door neighbor to Oprah is talking about its supposed ability to fool the brain into thinking the body is full. The only problem is that it seems that any old Joe can get his hands on some Hoodia, bottle it up, and sell it online. That may be what we’re seeing with ChitoGenics®, if we go by the quality of the website.
Green Tea, on the other hand, is often included in metabolism boosters and fat burners as a stimulant and generally effective weight loss agent. It delivers caffeine to the body, however, and it may induce some negative side effects in some people.
Curiously enough, both Hoodia and Green Tea formulas contain Citrus Aurantium along with herbal caffeine sources. Citrus Aurantium contains Synephrine, which is thought to safely boost metabolism. However, when it’s combined with caffeine, as in both ChitoGenics® formulas, it becomes unsafe.
Finally, Detox and Cleanse contains a wide variety of common cleansers that are completely unsurprising. And Hoodia Patch runs on a simple formula of Hoodia and Guarana.
Positives
• Simple presentation.
• Detox and Cleanse contains no stimulants.
Negatives
• Two products contain hazardous combinations.
• Overall presentation is unconvincing and shoddy.
Final Thoughts
ChitoGenics® is an unimpressive source of rather conventional products. With potentially dangerous supplements and middle-of-the-road formulas, ChitoGenics® doesn’t seem like much of an option for weight loss or wellness.
