Supplements for muscle gain have become very popular in the supplements market nowadays. Every body builder is in constant search for such supplements. In this article I will discuss the top three supplements that are used by most body builders.

At the top of any body builders supplements list comes protein. Protein is known for being the food for muscles. If you do not take your required share of protein then your muscles will not grow.

There are a lot of natural sources of protein that you should exploit before having any supplements. Meat, milk, eggs, and other dairy products are example of such sources. Each source has its own benefits and is taken for a specific reason.

As a body builder it is recommended that you take at least one gram of protein for each pound of body weight. This amount has to be distributed all through the day.

Another supplement that always shows on body builders’ list of supplements for muscle gain is creatine. Creatine is an amino acid that is found naturally in your bodies and it is responsible to provide you with the energy needed for daily physical activities.

When you are training this natural supply is not sufficient and you require more of this nutrient to perform a high intensity exercise.

When taking this supplement, body builders go into two phases. The first phase it the loading phase in which it is required to take 20 to 30 grams of creatine every day. This phase lasts for four weeks.

The second phase is known as the maintenance phase. In this phase the body builder decreases the daily amount taken to 5 to 15 grams.

The third supplement that is on the list is glutamine. Glutamine is another essential amino acid that is found naturally in our bodies. Just like protein it is considered the food for muscles.

In ordinary situations the muscles can take enough glutamine from the reservoir that is in the body. However, when you train your muscles require more glutamine to consume. If you provide your muscles with this extra amount then they will tend to grow, otherwise they will not.

In addition to being one of the supplements for muscle gain, glutamine is known as an immune system booster. When you train not only your muscles undergo stress. You immune system is stressed as well, which leaves the body with a weak immune system. Thus taking glutamine has the additional benefit of boosting your immune system, which will lead to stronger and healthier body.

Outlined in this article is the top three supplements for muscle gain. Some beginner body builders prefer to stay away from such supplements and to rely on natural sources. Using these supplements are up to your personal preference, but it has been proved time and again the efficiency of these supplements to grow muscles.
