So You’ve Been Thinking About Entering A Figure Competition?
Maybe you have been thinking of entering a figure competition. Have you really sat down and thought about what’s involved in preparing for this type of competition? Striking a pose is one thing, but there is whole lot more involved. There are many hours of hard work that goes into the preparation. In this article, I’m going to cover some of the things you need to be aware of to get started.
First of all, and this is of course the most important, you need to get in shape. You’re going to be competing against some incredible bodies. So that means a solid diet and a steady exercise routine. This is probably going to be the hardest you’ve ever worked just to get into shape. And just when you think you’re done…there’s more.
Then after you’re actually physically ready for the competition, there is all the other things to do that so few people really give any thought to, because they think it’s secondary. They could not be more wrong. Things like choosing the suit you’re going to wear. As you well know, not every suit looks good on every body. Make sure that you pick one out that absolutely complements the way you look or it’s “Game Over” for you. I would recommend a good second and third opinion to help you with your suit decision .
Next up is the makeup. Let me tell you something. You don’t want to put on makeup that is going to cake up and melt under those extremely bright hot lights. Along with the situation turning into a real embarrassing scene, you could incur marks against you. Make sure that your makeup is competition tested and go with more top of the line makeup like Lancome or Estee Lauder. You will never go wrong with their products.
Your hair style is so important that many competitors make mistakes in this area. For a good example take a look at the way the Victoria Secret models wear their hair. That’s the kind of look you want to strive for. Based on statistics, it is the most successful ingredient in these competitions. Just be glad that there are people who actually record stats such as these. It will help you to win competitions.
