No gimmick, fad diet, or miracle pill can do what discipline and persistency will produce. You don’t have to build a ton of tissue to show off, but no muscle will have you looking more like a pancake and less fit and defined.
A lot of traditional training exercises create more back strain than results. Ideal training will focus on the entire ab region, including the lower back, sculpting and building strength as you continue working out. Using a machine can help with form if used properly, combined with floor exercises, like the reverse crunch. It takes time and effort to get those female abdominals to show up, but diet, exercise and consistency are the major factors.
