Reasons Why Bodybuilding Takes Persistence and Dedication

Bodybuilding is not, has never been and will never be a one-day affair. It’s no short-time picnic or entertainment volition. There are no overnight miracles that can pack you biceps or curve your abs to perfection. It takes a persistent endurance in the weight room to build a champion’s physique. The backbone of every bodybuilding program is persistence.

The ability to continually and maximally exert yourself to training and dieting rigors is what determines your achievement as a body builder. In other instances, persistence in bodybuilding refers to the staying power of a body builder. The beginner stages are usually attacked with a venomous motivation. The beginner body builder is almost always impatient to achieve the optimal muscle mass and strength. The vision, the dream and the ambition of muscle accumulation is at its highest ever during these initial stages of training.

Persistence though, is what ensures that this optimal muscle build is achieved. It takes a continuous training, dieting and positive thinking to build muscles. Bodybuilding must be nurtured, must be fueled, must be fed on self-sacrifice, determination and endurance. And persistence is in the two facets of training, namely; dieting and workouts. The diet must be designed and scheduled in such a way as provides the body with adequate levels of necessary nutrients to exercise and build muscles. The diet provides the raw materials to build new muscle tissue as well as helping achieve maximal stimulation for growth during workouts. But even the most superb diet if taken inconsistently, with an irregular and undependable way, yields no gains fro the dieter.

A serious body builder knows that gains accrue when they maintain the diet regime without faltering, even the diet bores, even when temptation to steal a bite of unhealthy foods is high, and even when the appetite goes on strike. The diet must be kept religiously, sometimes by sheer will. That is persistence and it is mandatory.

On the other hand is training workouts. Whereas the diet might provide growth materials, the body needs to be prompted to use those nutrients to build new tissues. If not, the body automatically switches to autopilot, and only synthesizes the bare minimum nutritional ratio to keep going, while the bulk of ingested foods go straight to storage sites. That is why the population keeps on growing fat despite a million and one attempts to loose body fat. The only way to nudge the body out of this lazy-mode autopilot is to force it through weight exercises.

When the going gets tough, the body efficiently burns not only the ingested foods but also the stored supplies. This leaves a leaner and healthier physique. The condition however is that the training must be continued, because the moment it stops, the autopilot is back. Initial stages of training are very hard, as the muscles resist their involvement and overwork, and a body builder must persist in the training until these same muscles are at home with an active lifestyle. The training intensity must also be perpetually increased after a stage of growth, persistently, without allowing for stagnation in growth.
