Bodybuilding How To Cut
New to Bodybuilding? Follow These Tips to Succeed
You will not only be “fit as a fiddle” from your bodybuilding work, you will improve your overall health and your energy reserves will increase. Any repetitive activity, such as bodybuilding, that requires your concentration and is done in solitude is a form of meditation. This has many positive benefits for your mental state. Ideally, other people will leave you alone and not interrupt your concentration. However, here are some essential tips that you need to know before you start on your body building journey.
Your diet can actually play a more important role in the results you achieve as a bodybuilder than your exercise system. In reality, you won’t get the “ripped” muscle definition results you want if you don’t eat the proper foods. The same is true when you are in your “bulk up” phase. You have to eat right. If you are thinking about trying to gain weight to add muscle mass at the same time as eating to get lean muscle definition, you won’t succeed. The two phases, getting ripped and bulking up, are just the opposite. For the bulking stage, which is where you start, you definitely want to eat more calories than your metabolism needs when your body is at rest. Calorie consumption during this phase is generally 20 times what your body weight is. So, if you weigh 200 pounds, you would need to consume 4000 calories a day. When your muscle mass is where you want it, albeit not clearly defined, you would go on a lower calorie “cutting” regimen which is very different, as far as what you can eat, than the bulk up phase was. The bulk up phase is much easier than the cutting phase because you can eat a lot of foods. However, the food you consume must be high quality, not junk food. You can get a good diet plan from the trainer at your health club or from the internet. For this stage of your training, you will need to include more complex carbohydrates in your eating plan than during the cutting phase. Also extremely important are lean protein and a variety of vegetables and fruits. A lot of bodybuilders recommend that for each pound you weigh it’s necessary to eat one gram of good, lean protein each day.
If your aim is to get lean and get a six pack you can totally forget about any alcohol! Whilst your body doesn’t store alcohol as fat it does metabolize it in the same was as carbs which means it becomes the primary choice for a fuel source. What does this mean? It means that the fat you are trying to shift to get rid of that soft look will happily stay where it is until all the alcohol is used up. Another good reason to keep away from alcohol is that a number of studies have shown that alcohol can make you lose muscle strength, as well as suppress the libido. By drinking you’re simply wasting all of your progress for the week, is it really worth it? If you’re serious about getting ripped, though, then ditch the alcohol.
Those that are new to bodybuilding will often overtrain when they begin which is a huge mistake. Setting their sights too high, these people will try to do too much all at once with routines and the amount of weight used. They do not realize they can become injured and also lose their desire even try by overloading themselves in this way.
Once you lose your motivation to train you will end up losing any of the progress you made because you simply don’t want to train anymore. The end result of overtraining is to ignore your body’s need to rest and reaping what they have sown. Rest, just like working out, is all part of the process of proper weight lifting and bodybuilding. Getting at least one day of rest a week, plus limiting your workouts to a maximum of 45 minutes, will ensure that you do not overtrain.
Do you think you can wish upon a star to look like Tom Venuto or Craig Ballantyne? Or Dwayne Johnson – better known as The Rock? Think again. They didn’t get their great bodies without a lot of hard work and dedication. You will need to follow their examples. As you stand gazing in the mirror after you have attained your goal, you will have the right to be proud. All the hard work will have paid off. And the side benefits will include a healthier body and improved self-confidence.
